The Board of Seymour Health has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the organisation. Board members are community volunteers, formally appointed by the State Minister for Health. They provide guidance and direction to the (Board appointed) Chief Executive Officer and senior hospital management staff. The Board meets on the first Thursday of the month, in addition to attending other nominated sub-committee meetings, community meetings and training, development and business activities.
PRESIDENT - Mr. SANDY CRESSWELL Sandy's expertise is in the Financial Planning industry. Sandy has extensive knowledge of the local area and has been actively involved in many sporting and service organisations. Sandy was Treasurer of the Board for two years and has been a member of the Board since 2000. Sandy is also a Bail Justice servicing the legal demands, as required, in the Seymour Region.
VICE PRESIDENT - Mr. IAN CHADWICK A Teacher for the past twenty years at Seymour Technical High School, Ian has a genuine interest in the community of Seymour and has been a member of the board since 1999 and a member of the Rotary Club of Seymour for many years. Ian’s main focus has been the new Aged Care Unit opened in September 2006.
TREASURER - Mr. GERARD HARD Gerard has lived in Seymour for 30 years. Being very active within the community, Gerard has also been a member of the CFA for 30 years, and been involved in many sporting organisations in the area. Currently the Operations Manager of The Apprentices Factory, Gerard has many years of knowledge in the field of Human Resources, having commenced the Seymour office of the company nearly 15 years ago. Gerard has rejoined the board after a previous six-year term. His focus is to ensure the local community is represented and that our hospital is serving our community well.
Mr. ROBERT WEBSTER A member of the Board since 1987, Bob held the position of President for three years. Bob is self-employed in the Agriculture Industry and has been on many community committees. He is dedicated to increasing services for the health requirements of the community.
Mr. TERRY OLD Terry has been a member of the Board since 1993 and held the position of President for two years. He is a former Local Government Officer in the Environmental Health field and currently runs his own business contracting to local authorities with the business employing 30 people. Terry demonstrates well-developed skills in Human Resources and Financial matters as well as a useful knowledge of IT.
Mrs. MICHELLE BRADLEY Editor of the Seymour Telegraph, Michelle moved to Seymour in 1999 and has been an active community member who enjoys informing and bringing the community together on important issues. In addition to her appointment on the Seymour Health board, Michelle is President of the Seymour Chamber of Commerce, Vice-President of the Seymour and District Community House, and Vice-President of the St Mary’s College Parents and Friends. Michelle also is a Fairley Leadership Fellow (2007). Michelle and her husband, Chris, run a local timber and hardware business. During her time on the board, Michelle hopes to ensure Seymour Health responds to the increasing needs of the district and be a leader in providing community health care services and training.
Mrs. ELIZABETH MELLOR Elizabeth has worked in the health and welfare sector for 27 years. She is strongly committed to community health and welfare and to making sure the needs of the community are being met. She has lived in the Seymour area for twelve years. Elizabeth and her husband run a training organisation which operates both in the local area and internationally.
