Planned Activity Group for Adults (including Neighbourhood Links Program)
The Planned Activity Group provides a social activities program for eligible frail, aged and younger people with disabilities. Planned Activity Groups aim to meet the needs and interests of older people in a manner that promotes participation and enjoyment. We are located in the Community Services building at the rear of the hospital.
Planned Activity Groups aim to:
- provide programs that encourage participation in a variety of activities that cater for individual interests and capabilities
- Encourage friendships and connectedness within our community
- meet the needs of people with dementia in a safe and secure environment
Planned Activity Groups provide:
- support with personal care requirements
- respite and support to carers
Acitivies include:
- Day outings
- Guest speakers
- Music
- Bingo
- Cards
- Exercise and physical games
- Celebration days (Melbourne Cup, Australia Day etc)
We are located in the Community Services Building located at the rear of the hospital.
Hours of Operation
Our program is centre based with a monthly outing. The centre is open during weekdays.
- Seymour; Monday to Friday
- Nagambie; every Tuesday (located at the Mechanics Institute, High St. Nagambie)
Cost
$6.60 attendance fee midday meal: $9.50 for 3 courses; $7.00 for 2 courses; and from $5.00 for sandwiches. You may instead choose to bring your own lunch. If you receive 'Meals on Wheels', please notify the coordinator, who will assist you in making the necessary arrangements.
Morning and afternoon tea are provided at no extra cost.
Transport
The Centre has a small bus with wheelchair access and a hoist. The bus is driven by Centre staff to assist you. Those who can are encouraged to make their own arrangements.
