Neighbourhood Links
Linking individuals with their community The aim of the Neighbourhood Links program is to enhance the quality of life for Home and Community Care clients who are living at home and have limited family and/or social contact by linking the client to a volunteer who provides companionship through regular visits and/or activities.

Cost
Home visits - no cost to client Activities - $6.20 per client Outings/travel - $6.20 per client Meals - prices will vary, but we try to limit this to around $10.00 - $12.00.
Who are the volunteers?
Our volunteers are people who care about others, gain satisfaction from helping others and have fun in the process.
All volunteers undergo a police check and an orientation session prior to commencement.
The role of the volunteers
- provide companionship on a regular basis
- create a sense of achievement and encourage independence
- act as a link between the client and the community
- encourage socialisation and the forming of new friendships
- promote self-esteem, to stimulate awareness and involvement out in the community
- help clients become aware of their rights and empower them to make their own decisions
