Dental Surgery Patients

All patients admitted for dental procedures are admitted as private patients.

The minimum fee of $280 is payable prior to your admission to the hospital on admission on the day of the procedure.  This pays for the minimum theatre time of one hour.  However, if your procedure takes over one hour in theatre, the fee will be $321. This may not be known until after the procedure has been completed. In this case an additional payment of $40 will be required on your discharge.

You will receive a bill from your oral surgeon and another one from your anaesthetist.  Please note that the bill from the oral surgeon and the anaesthetist are totally separate from hospital charges. Some oral surgeons and anaesthetists request full or part payment prior to the procedure. We recommend that you check with your surgeon.

The anaesthetist account is partially rebated by Medicare.

Depending on the level of cover, patients with private health insurance including extras might be entitled to receive some rebate for the surgeon’s fee and/or other fees. We recommend that you check with your private health care insurance fund.
