Midwifery & Obstetrics

Seymour Health is proud to have re-established full 24 hour, 7-days birthing services for low-risk pregnancies.

• Should your GP/Obstetrician decide your delivery needs to occur at a tertiary hospital due to higher risk, you are encouraged to return to Seymour Health for your postnatal care and comfort 
• Seymour Birthing Service is a collaborative model of care provided by a team of qualified and experienced midwives and supported by  local GPs 
• The Antenatal Clinic provides antenatal care and education for low-risk mothers
• Parent Craft classes are held on five consecutive Tuesday nights from 7 - 9pm.  Bookings for these classes can be made by contacting our Reception staff on 03 5793 6100.
• Our friendly Midwives provide a Domiciliary Service to all new mothers in our district. A Midwife will visit your home in the first week after you come home from hospital, to provide you with support and advice, check the baby's weight and development, help you with breast feeding and answer any questions that you may have.
• Qualified and experienced Lactation Consultant available in a mother and baby day stay program
• Midwives are on duty 24 hours a day and are always available for telephone contact and information
