In Case of Emergency

If you have been injured or are suffering from an acute illness or experiencing severe pain, you can seek initial telephone advice from registered nurses 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from:

In case of emergency please call 000

Tell the operator

  • Whether you need police, fire brigade or ambulance
  • Answer any other questions that the operator might ask
  • Wait to be connected
  • If you are calling from a mobile phone, the operator will first ask you which town and state you are calling from
  • Text emergency call – Dial 106; this service is only available if you use a TTY (teletypewriter) or computer with modem to access the telephone network.
  • If calling from a mobile phone in a remote area with no mobile coverage, you can dial 112 to access emergency services

  • Only dial 000 if you need urgent help from Police, Fire Brigade or  Ambulance Service
