What to bring to hospital

  • Please bring an up to date medication list and any current medications in the packaging as given to you by the Pharmacist
  • Toiletries
  • Private health insurance fund details
  • Medicare card
  • Health Care cards and pension numbers
  • Work Cover/TAC/Veterans Affairs full details
  • X-rays and doctor's letters
  • Small amount of money for vending machines (snacks and drinks) - the purchase of newspapers and magazines must be privately arranged directly with Seymour Newsagency (newXpress Seymour - Ph: 5792 1129), who will deliver daily to the hospital - patients are responsible for payment
  • Physical aids eg. hearing aids, walking frame, walking stick, crutches
  • Sleepwear, dressing gown, slippers

Note:  If you are having orthopaedic surgery and require crutches during your recovery time, you can either bring your own or purchase from Seymour Health. Due to infection control, crutches are no longer available for hire.

What not to bring

  • Wheat bags
  • Valuables, including jewellery (Seymour Health cannot be held responsible for their safe keeping)
